About Tamil Nadu Diploma Admission
Admission in Diploma Courses:
There are at present 464 Polytechnics in our State offering Diploma courses, Post Diploma courses and Certificate courses on various branches of studies in Engineering and Technology. Ten Institutes of Catering Technology and Hotel Management offering 3 year Diploma courses are also affiliated to this Directorate. The candidates who complete the Xth Standard are eligible for admission for Polytechnic Colleges and XIIth Standard for Catering Institutions. Before the admission process is started, the required qualifications such as Age, Marks required, and Number of Seats in the various categories etc. are published in the leading dailies so that students can decide their choice of polytechnic, course etc. well in advance.
Admission in Post Diploma Courses:
Some Government and Government Aided Polytechnics offer Post Diploma courses in various branches of Engineering. Candidates who possess Diploma can apply for Post Diploma courses in respective/ connected branches. There is no age limit for applying for admission to the above programme.
Lateral Entry into Diploma Courses:
HSC/ 10th std with 2 years ITI students can directly join the second year of the three year Diploma programme under Lateral Entry System in all Polytechnics. Their intake is restricted to 20% of the sanctioned intake of the First year Diploma courses.
Eligibility Criteria of Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
Citizenship: The candidate must be a citizen of India in order to fulfil the citizenship eligibility.
Age Limit: The aspirant must be a minimum of 15 years of age.
Educational Qualification: The candidate must possess 10th board passing certificate from a recognized board or equivalent.
Application Fee of Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
The application fee of Rs. 150 needs to be paid by the general candidate. In case the general candidates are sending the application fee through post, then they will have to pay an amount of Rs. 165. For the SC / ST candidates, there is no application fee at all.
Application Process in Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
• The candidates can purchase the application form from the notified centers and then fill up the application form with the correct details.
• Once the form is duly filled, then the candidates can submit it to the address mentioned.
• The application form can also be downloaded from the official website www.tndte.com and once it is downloaded , the candidates can fill up the application form and submit the same along with the DD.
• If the application form is sent through the post, then it must be done along with a self addressed envelope with Rs. 15 stamp value attached to it.
Syllabus of Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
The Candidates appearing for the exam must go through their tenth standard syllabus seriously. The question for this entrance exam will be related to the tenth board standard only. Mathematics and Science knowledge of the candidates will be tested, so the candidates will get questions based on these subjects.
Exam Pattern of Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
The competitive exams are nowadays mainly objective types and Tamil Nadu Polytechnic is no different. Multiple choice questions will be made available where the candidates will have to mark the right answer. In case the candidates mark two answers for one question, then it will be considered a wrong answer even when one answer is correct.
Hall Ticket for Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
The admit card can be downloaded from the official website, www.tndte.com. In order to do that the candidates need to go online and download the admit card by entering the hall ticket number or the registration number. The aspirants must click on the course for which they have applied for the admit card. The admit card will pop up on the computer screen. The candidates are requested to take a printout of the same and carry it along with them to the examination hall.
Results of Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
The results will be made available online and the candidates can check their results using their roll number.
Important dates of Tamilnadu Polytechnic Admission 2017
The candidates must note down the important dates of Tamilnadu Diploma Admission 2017, so that they can appear in the exam successfully:
• The application form will be made available online from the month of May 2017
• The applicants can submit online till the 2nd week of June 2017
• Hall ticket is available to download from last week of June 2017
• The exam will be held in the month of July 2017
• Results will be announced by last week of July 2017
• Counselling process will start by first week of August 2017
