Indian Maritime University Common Entrance Test is abbreviated as IMU CET. IMU CET is the under graduate & post graduate entrance examination which is conducted by the Indian Maritime University. Candidates who are willing to get their graduation &post-graduation degree in Nautical Sciences and Marine Engineering courses are supposed to give IMU CET entrance examination.

About Indian Maritime University CET
Indian Maritime University CET is under graduate & post graduate course. Candidates need to fill the application form and can apply for the entrance examination. This is university entrance examination where anyone can apply for the entrance examination and can get admission in Nautical Sciences and Marine Engineering course.

Eligibility Criteria for IMU CET 2017
To get eligible in IMU Common Entrance Test and study in the Indian Maritime University candidate are required to meet the following eligibility criteria:
I. School of Nautical Studies (SNS):
• DNS course leading to B Sc Nautical Science available at Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Kochi, Kandla Port campuses
• BSc Nautical Science available at Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata
• BSc Maritime Science available at Mumbai
Eligibility for all UG programmes: Candidate must have passed 10+2/ equivalent with a minimum of 60% in PCM & 50% in English
II. School of Marine Engineering (SME):
BTech (Marine Engineering) available at Chennai, Kolkata
Eligibility: Candidate must have passed 10+2 / equivalent with a minimum of 60% in PCM & 50% in English
PG Diploma in Marine Engineering available in Mumbai, Cochin
Eligibility: Candidate must have a degree in Mechanical Engineering / Marine Engineering and must have scored a minimum of 50% aggregate.
III. School of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering (SNA):
Undergraduate Programmes:
• BSc Ship Building and Repair available at Kochi
• BTech Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering
•  Eligibility: Candidate must have passed 10+2 / equivalent with a minimum of 60% in PCM & 50% in English
Post Graduate/Doctoral Programmes:
MTech in Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering available at Vishakhapatnam
Eligibility: Candidate must be a Graduate Engineer in Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Marine / Naval Architecture Engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 60% aggregate.
MTech in Dredging and Harbour Engineering available at Vishakhapatnam
Eligibility: Graduate Engineering in Mechanical / Civil / Aeronautical / Marine / Naval Architecture or equivalent with 60% aggregate
PhD (Non-residential) available at Vishakhapatnam
Eligibility: Post graduate degree in Marine Engineering / Naval Architecture
VI. School of Maritime Management (SMM):
MBA Port and Shipping available at Chennai, Kochi
Eligibility: Candidate must be a graduate with an aggregate of 50%
MBA Logistics available at Chennai,(and proposed at Kochi & Kolkata)
Eligibility: Candidate must be a graduate with an aggregate of 50%
MBA Infrastructure available at Chennai
Eligibility: Candidate must be a graduate with an aggregate of 50%
PhD in Management available at Chennai
Eligibility: Candidate must have a Post Graduate Degree in Management or related areas with an aggregate of 50%
*Note: MBA Infrastructure and PhD in Management are proposed courses.
V. School of Maritime Law (SML):
LLM (Maritime Law) available at Chennai
Eligibility: Candidate must be a graduate with an aggregate of 50%
PhD in Maritime Law (proposed) at Chennai
• Eligibility: Candidate must have a PG Degree in Law with an aggregate of 50%
• Candidates must have been born on or after October 01, 1988 (For SC/ST/PH – the date is October 01, 1982)

Application Process in IMU CET 2017
Candidates who are interested to give IMU CET needs to fill the application form and pay the registration fees. Candidate need to follow the mentioned below steps:
• The online application starts from April 2017
• Candidates need to fill the application form by mentioning the personal details
• General category candidates need to pay Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 700/- for SC/ST category candidates as application fees
• The last date to fill the application form will be by May 2017

Registration Fees of IMU CET 2017
The registration fees for IMU CET where general category candidates need to pay Rs. 1000/- and Rs. 700/- for SC/ST category candidates as application fees. Candidate can pay this application fee at any branch of SBI or Indian Bank using the challan.

Age Limit for IMU CET 2017
Candidates must have been born on or after October 01, 1988 (For SC/ST/PH – the date is October 01, 1982) for IMU CET Entrance Examination.

Exam Pattern for IMU CET 2017
IMU CET will be conducted in June 2017. The syllabus and exam pattern are mentioned below:
• There are multiple choice questions
• Questions will be related to English language and Comprehension, Current Affairs, General Knowledge and Legal Awareness and Aptitude.
• Exam duration will be of 120 minutes.

Admit Card for IMU CET 2017
The admit card of the candidate will be available on the official site of the Indian Maritime University. After the announcement of admit card the candidate able to download the card by filling up the application number. Candidate can download and take the print out of their hall ticket. The admit card will be available a week prior to the examination date.
Note: Admit card will not be send by post, candidates are supposed to download the hall ticket from the official site only.

Results of IMU CET 2017
Every year the entrance examination is conducted where the results are declared by June 2017.

Counselling Process of IMU CET 2017
Shortlisted candidates are supposed to login in to the official site and check their counselling dates. Selected candidates have to carry their original mark-sheets and certificates at the time of counselling and if they fail to carry their original certificates and mark-sheets their admission will be cancelled. Downloaded mark-sheets and certificates are not allowed. The counselling process would start tentatively by July 2017.
